Business Process

Abstract
Business process is an activity very important to an organization. Here I will discuss what it is about the business processes according to the experts and business processes in my conclusion. To be a good organization, so many of the characteristics of business processes that must be met to be discussed in the journal.Some characteristics in business processes, Cycle of business proceses.


Business processes:
According to Davenport in his book Davenport, Thomas (1993), Process Inovation : Reengineering work thourgh information technology, Harvard Business SchoolPress, Boston.
Business processes can be defined:
     " Activity measured and structured to produce a specific output for a particular customer or market.It implies a strong emphasis on how work is done within an organization. A process is a specific sequence of work activities across time and place, with a benning and end, and clearly defined inputs and outputs."


And according to the definition of Hammer and Champy in his book Hammer, Michael and Champy, James (1993), Reengineering the Corporation : A Manifesto for Business Revolution, Harper Business.
Business processes can be defined:
     " Collection of activities that need one or more input and produce output useful or of value to the customer."


It can be concluded that the business process is a collection of interrelated activities and structured to resolve the problem or produce a product or service to achieve a particular purpose.



   Cycle of business processes:


     1. Requirement phase
     2. acquisition phase
     3. Stewardship phase
     4. Retirement phase

To build a business process, we must first menngetahui characteristics of the business process itself. The following are its characteristics:


  • Definitive      : A business process must have limits, input and output pins.
  • Sequence       : A business process activity must have an ordered according to their time and place.
  • Consumers    : A business process must have a process result receiver.
  • Value added  : The changes that occur in the results of the process must add value to the recipient.
  • Linkage          : A process can not stand alone, but must be related to the structure of the organization.
  • Cross function: a process generally includes several functions.


  Business processes are divided into several processes, namely:

1. Core business processes / main
    the process is organized to serve customers products or services users

2. Supporting business processes
    the process is organized to serve internal customers (employees)

3. Business process management
    the process by which companies plan, organize and control the resources that exist.
